There’s not a whole lot to report since my last results post. The most exciting thing was getting a Chase “Selected for You” offer that allowed me to apply for the Chase Ink Unlimited. Here are our credit card applications and results for Spring 2019.

My Applications

American Express Hilton Honors Business

I made a dummy booking to get the sign-up bonus with the $100 statement credit. This more than offsets the annual fee making this a great sign-up bonus.

Annual fee: $95

Result: Instant approval

Bonus: $100 statement credit after first purchase and 125,000 Hilton Honors points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months

Chase Ink Unlimited

Chase Ink Unlimited

I wouldn’t have been eligible for this card due to 5/24 if it wasn’t for the Chase “Selected For You” offer on my account.

Annual fee: No annual fee

Result: Pending, approved a few days later

Bonus: 50,000 Chase points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months

My Husband’s Applications

Chase United Explorer Card

Earlier this year, we opened the business version of this card so we decided we might as well earn some more United miles while we can. This offer had a high spending requirement but we have until mid-November to complete it.

Annual fee: $95, waived first year

Result: Pending, approved a few days later

Bonus: 40,000 United miles after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months and an additional 20,000 miles after spending a total of $8,000 in the first 6 months

Final Thoughts

The trend toward higher minimum spending requirements has definitely impacted the speed at which we can churn. Thankfully, the sign-up bonuses are a bit higher as a result. While we are opening cards more slowly, we are still on track to earn 235,000 points and miles from these three cards. Not a bad spring!
