Park Hyatt Milan

The Park Hyatt Milan has been at the top of my “churning bucket list” for a while now. Previously, the Hyatt credit card sign-up bonus offered two free nights, and at 30,000 points per night, the Park Hyatt Milan was a great redemption option. Unfortunately, you now only get 40,000 points with the Hyatt credit card, which is still enough for a one night stay. While expensive, even on points, the Park Hyatt Milan is one hotel that can’t be missed. Here’s my review of the Park Hyatt Milan.

The location of the Park Hyatt Milan couldn’t be better. Since we were only in town for one night before heading to the airport, it was important for us to be downtown and close to the action. The Park Hyatt Milan is right next to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, you know, the pretty shopping mall with the dome? It’s also very close to the Duomo, which was convenient for changing my clothes when I was turned away for my skirt not being long enough. This summer, a standard room was going for about $750 a night. I transferred 30,000 Chase points to Hyatt to “pay” for the room. That’s still somewhat “expensive” for points, but you can’t take it with you!

The lobby opens up to a lounge with lots of natural light. This area is used for the breakfast buffet.

Off of the lobby is Mio, a cocktail bar with a casual menu. In addition to breakfast and Mio, the Park Hyatt Milan has a Michelin star restaurant, Vun, onsite. We were only in Milan for one night so we didn’t have a chance to try any of the dining options.

The fitness center is located on the lowest level. The fully stocked gym was a decent size, and I don’t think you will ever have to compete for equipment here considering it was completely empty!

The amenities are nice, but what makes the Park Hyatt Milan really shine is the beautiful guest rooms. The design and color choices are unique and give the room a homey, but elegant vibe.

The floor to ceiling windows opened up to a Juliet balcony. The balcony is not very functional, but I love the aesthetic.

The room wasn’t huge, but it felt livable, especially by European standards.

Like I mentioned earlier, the styling elements really set this room apart. Everything was perfectly curated from the gold paneling behind the bed to the purple orchids above the nightstands.

These little espresso machines are perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up. We drank quite a few espressos, and the staff was very prompt when we called to request more pods.

Ah, the bathroom. This is by far the nicest hotel bathroom I’ve seen yet. The bathroom was massive! Also, can you believe this shower? I love a nice shower stall and this exceeded all expectations.

The bathroom was fully stocked with all the toiletries you could possibly need. They also put the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in three locations!

The bathroom doubled as a closet which may have bothered me more if I was staying there longer. Since I wasn’t unpacking, the lack of a proper closet didn’t really bother me. Bonus points for having the thickest slippers I’ve encountered at a hotel.

Back to my favorite part, the shower! I love a nice, long shower and it’s even better when there’s a built-in bench to sit on.

There was also a tub, but why would you use it when you have that shower?!

You know a hotel is good when your biggest complaint is the scent of the toiletries. They looked so pretty but I really did not dig the scent.

Last but not least, the toilet and bidet were in their own private room. Again, this room was also much larger than that of other hotels. It was nice to have some privacy without feeling claustrophobic.

Final Thoughts

The Park Hyatt Milan is not cheap, even on points, but I recommend staying here if you get the chance. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the location is unbeatable. Staying at this hotel was one of the most memorable parts of our time in Milan. Overall, the Park Hyatt Milan certainly lived up to the hype. If this is a standard room, I can’t imagine what the suites are like!

  1. Awesome Post. Park Hyatt Milan looks awesome. I’m curious why you didn’t go with a Marriott (Boscolo Autograph), SPG or Hilton where you can easily earn status. For me, a big factor is free breakfast and upgrade potential.

    1. Thanks for reading! I had heard so many great things about this hotel, I didn’t really check out many other options (even though I have SPG, Marriott, and Hilton Gold thanks to Amex Platinum!).
