Sheraton Anchorage

This summer, I spent one night in Anchorage, Alaska after an amazing cruise of Alaska’s Inside Passage. We decided to spend the night and relax a little before flying out early the next morning. I decided on the Sheraton mainly because I get free lounge access as an Amex SPG Business credit cardholder. Here’s my review of the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel & Spa. I’ve mentioned before but my blog is a secret from my family, so please excuse the poor quality of the photos. It’s hard to sneakily take pictures of a hotel room!

The Lobby

The Sheraton Anchorage isn’t the fanciest hotel, but it has everything you need. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check-in process was literally the fastest of any hotel I’ve been to. We were also excited to receive a suite upgrade thanks to my SPG Gold status. Unfortunately for my dad, that meant sleeping on another sofa bed!

In the lobby, there was also a steak and seafood restaurant called Jade. We didn’t have a chance to eat here, but it’s nice that they have this option.Sheraton Anchorage

The lobby also had a small business center with several computers.

The Room

Having spent a week in a tiny cruise ship room, this suite felt massive! It was definitely nice to spread out a bit. The bed was actually so comfortable even though I had to share with my sister.

The decor was nothing special, but Anchorage isn’t exactly a cosmopolitan city. My dad had the luxury of sleeping on the small sofa bed.Sheraton Anchorage

There was also a TV in the living room area.

The bathroom was pretty small for a suite and it really wasn’t anything special.

The Lounge

We weren’t in town for long so we didn’t get to make good use of the lounge. We mainly hit it up for waters and snacks. Unfortunately, our flight was so early that we missed breakfast.Sheraton Anchorage

These pictures didn’t come out well but you can get a feel for the lounge. It wasn’t all that nice, but there was plenty of seating should you want to hang out up there.Sheraton Anchorage

The blinds were down, but you can kind of see the sweet view. I guess Anchorage does have something going for it!

The snack offerings were pretty limited. You could have apples or oranges, snack mix, trail mix, or hard candies. Unsurprisingly, the hard candies were not a big hit. There was also yogurt in the fridge.Sheraton Anchorage

Final Thoughts

The Sheraton Anchorage was a decent choice for our one night in Anchorage. It was a bit of a walk from the main shopping area downtown, but the sun didn’t set until 11 so it made for a nice walk to and from dinner. The rooms and lounge were nothing special, but were fitting for the location. I don’t have anything negative to say about this hotel, except that they should have a few more snack options in the lounge. Overall, we had a nice stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I ever find myself back in Anchorage!
